One of the nations inspiring paralympians has bagged himself a Jimbag!

Manchester born Myles Pearson is one of the most inspiring elite athletes of our time. 22-year- old paralmpic athlete Myles, (Mylo) was the youngest player to compete in Great British wheelchair rugby.

Representing his county, studying at university and training for Rio De Janeiro 2016 can be intense, hard hitting and fast paced.

Pearson has a variety of successful sporting titles, making him the inspiration that he is today. 2010 was when Mylo realised wheelchair rugby was his passion. Taking part in two European championships and also London 2012 Paralympics, Myles Pearson is an extremely successful young athlete.

‘It is important as an athlete to build support from others and to recuperate that support whenever needed!’ Myles Pearson

Jimbag has become a useful addition for Pearson as practicality and sports luxe is provided all within one bag. Myles couldn’t be happier to be supporting his country, once again, by using Jimbag for his training sessions and Rugby matches.

Tell us a bit about yourself…

Hello Jimbag! I am Myles, I’m 22, play wheelchair rugby and I’m a London 2012 GB Paralympian.

Who is your sporting idol?

It has to be my grandad. He was an amateur boxer who came very close to making it professional. He’s so humble about it all and was devoted to the sport. I believe in the end he chose my nan over boxing, which must’ve been incredibly tough, to my understanding this is the reason why he didn’t become professional. For him to have made that decision is hugely admirable and I have a great amount of respect for him.

How do you stay motivated?

I love to spend time with my family, to see the love and dedication they have given me in helping me achieve my dreams helps me get through those freezing December mornings out on the court.

How did you become involved with team GB Paralympics?

I started my career off at Crash, through time and hardwork I started to make a name for myself in the national league. During my time there, through an intern, I was later helped and got selected for Great Britain. I’ve been very fortunate throughout my career to have terrific coaches and role models, I would be nowhere near without their support.

What fitness and dietry requirments are involved with your job?

I’ve always had a fairly balanced diet. My family are lovers of local produce and homemade food, so I’ve always had variety including a lot of protein, fibre and carbs. In terms of fitness, I’m currently training 12-14 hours a week. The sessions consist of strength and conditioning, also including on court work.

What are your current plans?

After taking a year out to focus on my studies at Southampton Solent University, my first job is to get back into the elite squad. I’ve had a good club season so I’m hopeful that the coaches will have seen my improvement.

What has your Jimbag been useful for?

I have an abundance of rugby gloves, my Jimbag has helped me a great deal, by keeping all of them together. My vests and bands also fit. The bag has a great amount of space for my sporting needs and also fits on the back of my wheelchair, allowing me to transport the majority of my equipment with me. It’s really is useful!

What advice would you give somebody who wanted to be involved with the paralympics?

Dream, believe and achieve. Nothing is impossible so if you have a dream, do what it takes to go out and get it.

Thankyou for all your support and we wish you all the best in your trials for Rio De Janeiro!
